Outlook for Windows client to store email signature in the cloud

There is a possibility that Microsoft is on the path to release an update for Outlook client on Windows machine which will allow users to configure an email signature that would be saved on the cloud rather than your local machine.

This will probably resolve the issue where till date users would have to configure the email signature on all the devices when they would install their email client. Users would also have to reconfigure whenever they would either reinstall the application or setting the outlook up on a new machine.

This feature has been one of the most requested ones in recent years by the users. There has been a need for a centralised email signature management which can seamlessly integrate and work with outlook client across devices.

According to Microsoft, starting from June 2020,

An email signature will be managed and saved in the user’s Microsoft 365 account and will automatically configure and load from the cloud every time a user would send an email.

This will not only allow users to have the same email signature on all the devices but also would avoid accidentally use of old signature from the devices. If any of the user details change all users must do is change it in one place and it will be reflected across all the devices.

According to Microsoft 365 roadmap page, this will first be available for Office365 and Microsoft365 for the windows Outlook client and probably would be rolled out to other clients (iOS and Android) in upcoming months.

We at Setup4 believe that if Microsoft would extend this feature to manage the company-wide email signature on the cloud. This would be a really nice feature and could work inline with your marketing strategy and would no longer have to change that punchline in the signature for all the users on their devices one by one.
